A trailer is an unpowered vehicle towed by a powered vehicle. It is commonly used for the transport of goods and materials. Dump trailers use hydraulics to lift the trailer bed from its frame, making unloading heavy hauls easy and efficient. Trailers are often used in landscaping, junk removal, and moving companies to haul smaller scale equipment to and from sites.

Pulltarps SuperShield 8500M Tarp System is designed for smaller dump truck bodies up to 18ft. This is the strongest, most durable Semi-Automatic Tarp System available in the industry. The fully-welded 12 gauge steel construction offers the best protection from falling debris. The SuperShield is powder-coated for corrosion resistance. Choose the SuperShield 9500M for larger dump truck bodies up to 40ft.
The Open System is our most economical semi-automatic tarp system that can hold up to 30 feet of tarp. The Open System is great for applications where falling debris and loader damage is not a concern. Known as an “Open System”, there is no housing to protect the tarp and roller from falling debris. Includes black powder-coated end plates and steel bolt-in spring shaft anchor.
The Open 6000M System is the most basic and least expensive system we offer for smaller dump trucks. Known as an “Open System”, there is no housing to protect the tarp and roller from falling debris. The Open semi-automatic system easily operates by manually pulling the tarp out over the load with a pull rope; the tarp is easily retracted back into the housing using spring tension within the roller mechanism. The Open 6000M holds up to 16ft of tarp.
1. Can I install this Pulltarps Tarping System myself or do I need to bring it to a Service Center?
If you need to have a Tarping System installed and don’t have the ability to do it on your own, you can use our Locate A Service Center page locate an approved Service Center in your area. We also provide detailed instructions and hotline telephone technical support so you can install the systems yourself or have your local truck repair or welding shop do it for you.
2. How hard is it to install a Tarping System?
That depends on your technical and mechanical abilities. Hard to install may have a different meaning for different people. Although there is nothing that is terribly complex about our tarping systems, we supply easy to follow instructions. We have found that most people who have difficulty installing the system did not read the instructions until they had a problem. Normally our systems take only a few hours to install.
