Tesla Semi to enter limited production run in 2020 from its US facilities

The Tesla Semi will begin limited production in 2020 from its facilities in the United States, notes the company in its third-quarter update.

“We are planning to produce limited volumes of Tesla Semi in 2020,” the company stated in its Q3 2019 Update letter released on October 23. Tesla will use this anticipated production volume, a figure unknown to the public at this time, to fulfill the pre-orders for the truck that features both 300-mile and 500-mile range options, and a 0-60 mph acceleration of 5 seconds.

With major companies such as FedEx, Anheuser-Busch, Walmart, and most recently Frito Lay placing Tesla Semi orders in a bid to reduce their company’s carbon footprint, pressure to make good on first deliveries of the all-electric semi runs as high ever.
